INSTALLATION

This pump is designed to be installed
underneath refrigeration units to
collect water during the defrost cycle,
where direct drainage is not available.
The pump is triggered by a float sensor
arrangement and will discharge the
water to a maximum height of 20
metres to a suitable drain.
The pump comes fitted with a high
level safety switch that can be
connected to any BMS or facilities panel
indicating in either N.C. or N.O. in the
event of a high level situation or pump
failure. The high level safety switch is
factory set to Normally Closed mode,
but can be changed to Normally Open
to suit specific site requirements.
This pump is designed to sit level on its
base. Ensure that there are no kinks or
trapped parts in the discharge piping,
which must have an internal diameter
of 10mm and be secured to the pump
outlet with a suitable clamp.
Waste inlet connection
1. This pump is provided with 4 x Ø48mm
(1½ Inch) inlet points – top, end and
each side. Select the inlet point most
appropriate to the installation site.

Power cable
2. Secure the inlet connector into position
ensuring a water tight seal is achieved.
3. Using the 2 part inlet plugs provided,
plug the remaining inlet points.
a. Position the smaller diameter of the
black rubber plug into the inlet hole,
ensuring the larger diameter of the
black rubber plug is flush with the
outer pump wall.
b. Position the white plug insert into
the black rubber plug as shown.
c. Continue to push the white plug
insert into the black rubber plug as
shown. This will create a
watertight seal.

IMPORTANT

IMPORTANT Health & Safety
1 This appliance should ONLY be fitted and serviced by a competent &
qualified HVAC/R installer in accordance with these instructions and
all relevant local and national electrical codes and regulations.
2 This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above
and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe
way and understand the hazards involved.
3 If the Supply Cord is damaged the pump must be switched off to
avoid a hazard. Any replacement of the power cord is intended to be
made by the manufacturer, its service agent or similar
qualified person.
4 Switch off the isolator to isolate the pump from the electrical supply
or disconnect from the electrical supply following the National
wiring rules.
Outlet pipe connection
Using a suitable outlet pipe with a minimum
internal diameter of 10mm, connect the
outlet pipe to the barbed brass outlet
connector and secure into position using a
suitable clamp.
Ensure there are no kinks or trapped parts
within the outlet hose through to the
connection to the waste pipe.
!
Ensure the outlet pipe run is kept above
the level of the pump tank to avoid
siphoning occurring.
!
If required, the 10mm barbed brass outlet
assembly (housing the umbrella valve NRV)
can be removed from the pump assembly
without the need to remove the pump
motor lid. See Maintenance section.
Secondary Outlet Pipe
Non-return Valve
To aid future service and maintenance and
to avoid the need to drain the system down
in the event of pump removal, a secondary
inline NRV is provided and we recommend
this is fitted within the outlet pipe work.
!
Note the position of the arrow to dictate
correct direction of flow.

Commissioning / Testing
After initial installation and/or maintenance,
do not leave site until the pump has been
tested for leaks in pipe connections, and
correct operation, ensuring the pump
remains primed ready for use.
Change Normally Closed High
Level switching to Normally
Open
The factory set Normally Closed High
Level safety switch connection can be
reconfigured to Normally Open mode to suit
site requirements.
If required;
1. Carefully remove the circlip from the
High Level safety switch float (right hand
float when viewed from the front).
Normally Closed position
2. Remove the float and rotate 180°.
3. Place the float back onto the float
mounting and carefully replace the circlip
onto the arm.
Normally Open position
