Read this notice carefully to get used to your appli-
ance before connecting the gas cartridge. Please keep
these instructions in a safe place for future reference.
FITTING THE CARTRIDGE:
This hot-air heating gun must be used only with gas
cartridges of the type P445 (60 g/110 ml). It can be
dangerous to use any other gas cartridge. Guilbert
Express and HellermannTyton decline all liability if
another make of cartridge is used. The gas cartridge
must only be changed out doors and far away from
other people.
Check that the valve is closed. Stand the hot-air hea-

by hand only. See fig. 1
PUTTING INTO SERVICE:
• Set to medium flow by turning the control valve
(position 1): see fig. 4
• Press the piezo button immediately after opening
the gas valve, several times if necessary: see fig. 5
• Adjust heating by turning the valve: see fig. 6
• To fit nozzles: see fig. 2
• To fit protection spring: see fig. 1
• Temperature depends on distance:
Without nozzle, see fig. 7
With flat nozzle, see fig. 8
• With the reflector nozzle, soft soldering copper
pipe up to Ø 32 mm
• Adjustable from 400 °C up to 750 °C
• Max. gas consumption: 75 g/h
• Appliance under direct butane pressure
• The heating gun can be used in temperatures
above -8 °C.
• 'Flaring': If a yellow flame is produced from the
nozzle (instead of hot air) it is known as 'flaring'.
This may occur during a short period, for a few
seconds, if the tool has been held upside down
before igniting.
In order to avoid flaring, ignite the E4500 gun in
an upright position and wait for 5 seconds before
using in any position.

that the leak can be located and stopped
• If you want to check your hot-air heating gun for
leaks, do it outside
