CP4 clamping

!
Exclusive use is to be made of the specified
clamping devices and drive couplings for clamping
the CP4 in position on the EPS 815.
!
Lightly oil the radial shaft oil seal of the CP4 with
motor oil 15W-40 before mounting the intermediate
flange. The CP4 may only be operated with an oiled
radial shaft oil seal.
!
Before clamping the CP4 in position on the
EPS 815, check the freedom of movement of the
pump drive shaft and check the pump housing
for cracks. CP4 on which the drive shaft does not
move freely or is blocked, or with the housing
cracked may not be clamped and tested.
!
The drive coupling must be covered with a protective
hood and the protective ring during the pump test.
i
All clamping elements and couplings required for
clamping are listed in the special accessories catalog
for EFEP / EPS (order number 1 689 980 289) or in
the special accessories CD Tools Catalogue.
i
The following clamping accessories are additionally
required for clamping theCP4: Drive coupling

1. Fasten the intermediate flange (Fig. 1 item 3) to the
flywheel of the EPS 815. Tightening torque of the
fastening screws at:
M10 = 55 ±2 Nm
M12 = 95 ±2 Nm
Warning - danger of entanglement!
Parts of the body or items of clothing could
become trapped in rotating or moving parts
when the drive system is in operation.
Fit the guard at a distance of < 5 cm from
the flywheel.
2. Slide the protective hood (Fig. 1, item 1) over
the intermediate flange and attach it to the EPS
mounting bracket.
3. Fasten the drive coupling (Fig. 1, item 4) with the
centering piece on the intermediate flange.
Tightening torque: 95 ±2 Nm
i
The centering piece is included in the scope of
delivery of the intermediate flange 1 685 700 140.
4. Slide the guard ring (Fig. 1, item 2) over the drive
coupling onto the protective hood.
5. Mount clamping flange (Fig. 1, item 7) on the CP4
(fig. 1, item 8).
6. Place CP4 with clamping flange in the clamp
bracket (Fig. 1, item 6) and fasten.
7. Mount intermediate flange (Fig. 1, item 5) on the
drive shaft of the CP4. Tightening torque of the
clamping nut: 80 + 10 Nm.
8. Place CP4 on the clamping bracket of the EPS.
9. Connect the intermediate flange (item 5) of the
CP4 to the intermediate coupling (Fig. 1, item
4) and secure with the two fastening screws.
Tightening torque: 35 ±2 Nm
10. Attach the angle plate (Fig. 1, item 6) to the
clamping bracket using the two fastening screws.
11. Slide the guard ring (Fig. 1, item 2) over the drive
coupling and fasten.
