1. Connect the hoses for the test oil supply (Fig. 2,
item 2) and return (Fig. 2, item 3) to the connections
of the CP4 provided for this purpose.
2. Connect hose lines for test oil supply and test oil
return to temperature sensor holder (test oil supply
on B46, test oil return on B47).

Before connecting the high-pressure hose, clean
the sealing taper and sealing cone on the high-
pressure rail and high-pressure pump.
3. Connect the high-pressure hose 1 680 712 324
(Fig. 2, item 4) to the high-pressure inlet of the
high-pressure rail, and use the test pressure line
1 680 750 123 (Fig. 2, item 14) to connect to the
high-pressure connection of the CP4 (tightening
torque = 25 Nm - 30 Nm).

The adapters 1 681 032 113 must only be
used for the high-pressure connection at CP4 -
0 445 020 602, because this CP4 has a special
connection cone.
4. Seal the connection for connecting the high-
pressure hose to the distributor rail CRI 846H or
CRI/CRIN 848 H on the high-pressure rail (Fig. 2,
item 6, 7) with a dummy plug.

For CP4.2 the dummy plug on the high-pressure rail
(Fig. 2, item 6) must be removed and an additional
high-pressure hose must be connected on high-
pressure rail and CP4.

Connection CP4 for delivery pump measurement or
vacuum pressure measurement
In parts set 1 687 016 127, the adapter 1 681 032 115
is used for the delivery pump pressure measurement
for CP4 with gear pumps. Mount adapter before the
test on CP4 and insert the hose line from the adapter
on the pressure sensor holder B49 (Fig. 2, item 12).

The O-ring (1 680 210 163 and ... 164) of the
adapter 1 681 032 115 must be checked on a
regular basis and replaced if damaged. Damaged
O-rings can cause faulty measurements.
The hose lines in parts set 1 687 016 127 are used for
the vacuum pressure measurement. Connect pump-
specific hose line on the injection pump and on the
pressure sensor holder B48 (Fig. 2, item 12).

For the vacuum pressure measurement, to a
minimal 50 kPa (abs) or 0.5 bar (abs) can be
measured.

Variant 1: Test oil connection CP4 with holding
clamps

For the test oil connection of the CP4, use the
pump-specific hose lines. With retaining clamps
1 685 200 116 (Fig. 3, item 3) the hose lines
are fastened on the CP4. The hose lines and
the holding clamps are included in the scope of
delivery of parts set 1 687 016 124.

1. Connect hose line for test oil supply (Fig. 3, item 1)
on the supply connection of the CP4.
2. Connect hose line for test oil return (Fig. 3, item 2)
on the return connection of the CP4.
3. Fasten both hose lines on the connections of the
CP4 with the holding clamps (Fig. 3, item 3).
4. Connect hose lines for test oil supply and test oil
return to temperature sensor holder (test oil supply
on B46, test oil return on B47).
