Maintenance intervals

Check exhaust gas sampling hoses

Always handle exhaust gas sampling hoses (high-
pressure and low-pressure hoses) with care and check
before use. Replace hoses if inspection reveals the
following damage:
R
Cracks, brittle areas, abrasion or blistering of the
hose jacket
R
Kinked exhaust gas sampling hose
R
Stiff union nuts or quick-release couplings
R
Deformed or damaged connection end of exhaust
gas sampling hose (sealing cone, plug-in nipple,
etc.)
R
Leakage at hose fitting
R
Corrosion at hose fitting if strength is reduced as a
result
R
Service life exceeded (see section 6.3)

Damaged hose lines must not be repaired.

Replacing the high-pressure hose

Replace high-pressure hoses (operating pressure
greater than 60 bar) after 3 years (see date of

no apparent defects of relevance to safety.

Make sure that the hydraulics area is always closed
with the cover following each filter replacement.
1. On the front of the EPS 815, take off the lower left
cover.
2. Remove wing nut (Fig. 6; item 5).
3. Place the container in front of the EPS 815, so that
the test oil in the filter does not get onto the floor.
4. Pull the mounting bracket with filter element out of
the hydraulic chamber.
5. Unscrew the filter housing (Fig. 6, item 4) on the
filter cover (Fig. 6, item 2).
6. Unscrew the filter element (Fig. 6, item 3) from the
filter cover.
7. Remove the filter element and dispose of it.
8. Insert a new filter element and screw into place.
9. Screw the filter housing onto the filter cover.
