For your own safety, use a FI safety
switch with a nominal fault current
≤ 30 mA.

7.1 Adjusting the working depth

Warning! Only adjust the
A
working depth when dis-
connected from the mains.
Warning! The working
A
depth is pre-adjusted by
Brill and should only be readjusted
with care as a too deep insertion
into the ground can result in the
implement being subjected to over-
loading. The correct aerating depth
is < 3 mm.
Use
cultivated lawn, no stones, soft ground
stony uncultivated ground
uncultivated areas with a high moss content
7.2 Connecting the extension cable
First of all, insert the connector of
the extension cable in the socket
of the start switch and then sus-
pend it in the cable strain relief
(Figure H) in such a way that the
extension cable leading to the
socket sags slightly.
The cable strain relief prevents an
accidental separation of the electri-
cal plug-in connection
Always pay out the cable complete-
ly and in large windings.
The connector of the extension
cable must be inserted in the
corresponding socket. The power
supply socket must be protected
with a minimum of 16 A.
The extension cable is to be so
guided that when aerating, it is
always on the side which has
already been aerated.
Warning! The extension
A
cable is not to be trapped
The working depth must be
adjusted in accordance with
the corresponding grass and
ground situation.
The working depth can be continu-
ously adjusted with the adjusting
hand wheel (Figure F Pos. 8).
The adjusted working depth
depends on the blade wear and
can be read out from the display
(Figure G). In order to do so, the
implement is to be switched off and
the control lever (Figure. E Pos. 3)
set to Position D (Drive).
After frequent use, the working
depth can be readjusted in accor-
dance with the blade wear.
Working Depth
adjust to ground level
adjust to ground level,
adjust to a lower working depth in case of stone impact
commence with a low working depth
in door or window gaps! Always
only remove the extension cable at
the socket or the connector housing
at the socket.
7.3 Starting
Start or activate the start-up switch
with care and in accordance with
the manufacturer's instructions.
Ensure that there is sufficient clear-
ance between your foot and the
cutting toll. Position the aerator on
a level part of the lawn.
Inspect the grounds on which the
implement is to be used and
remove all objects which could
become caught and hurled away
from the implement.
Should the aerator cylinder be
blocked by a foreign body or the
motor be overloaded, release the
safety gripper (Figure D Pos. 6);
the motor switches off automatical-
ly. If necessary, disconnect the
power supply and remove the
foreign body.
Note:
Disconnect from the mains! The set-
ting should always be inspected
and adjusted on flat ground, when
the control lever (Figure. E Pos. 3) is
at position D (Figure. E), the blade
points should make slight contact
with the ground. The adjustment
hand wheel (Figure. F Pos. 8) can
be turned

tion + if the lawn is cultivated and
level.
Warning! Only adjust the
A
working depth when the
motor is switched off.
Warning! The aerator is not
A
to be tilted when switching
the motor on, the exception being if
the aerator needs to be lifted dur-
ing the process. In this case, tilt it
only as far as absolutely necessary
and only lift up the side which is
facing the user.
Before starting, switch the control
lever (Figure E Pos. 3) to P (Park).
To start, press the start button
(Figure D Pos. 10) and pull the
safety gripper (Figure D Pos. 6)
in the direction of the guide cross-
tie with the other hand. After the
motor has started up, release the
start button.
Hold onto the aerator when switch-
ing the aerator cylinder to the
working position.
Push the control lever (Figure E
Pos. 3) forwards to Position D
(Drive), the aerator cylinder is
switched to the working position.
