Die Lokomotive für Europa E 410/184
Für den grenzüberschreitenden Verkehr im Herzen
Europas hat die DB 1966/67 erstmals neun Lokomotiven
beschafft, die auch unter dem Fahrdraht der benachbar-
ten Eisenbahnen eingesetzt werden können.
• 15.000 V mit 16 2/3 Hz in Deutschland,
• 25.000 V mit 50 Hz in Frankreich und Luxemburg,
• 3.000 V in Belgien,
• 1.500 V in Frankreich und in den Niederlanden.
DIe Aufbereitung des Fahrstroms erfolgt durch Transfor-
matoren und entweder Gleichrichter (BBC Bauart) oder
Thyristor gesteuerte Wechselrichter (AEG Bauart).
Zum Antrieb werden einheitlich vier Mischstrom-Moto-
ren benutzt. Die Lokomotiven sind alle mit der gleichen
Mechanik (Krupp) ausgerüstet und bringen mit 4.240 kW
und 150 km/h Höchst-, Geschwindigkeit die Leistung der
,,Inlands-Lok" E 10/110.
Durch eine stufenlose Geschwindigkeitssteuerung
kann die E 410/184 sowohl schnelle Reisezüge als auch
schwere Güterzüge leistungsfähig befördern.
Die Viersystem-Loks waren ursprünglich in Köln stati-
oniert.

In 1966/67 the DB ordered for the first time nine locomo-
tives for cross border traffic in the heart of Europe that
could be used with the catenary systems of neighboring
railroads.
• 15.000 volts with 16 2/3 Hertz in Germany,
• 25.000 volts with 50 Hertz in France and Luxembourg,
• 3.000 volts in Belgium,
• 1.500 volts in France and the Netherlands.
The traction current is processed by transformers and
either rectifiers (BBC design) or thyristor-con-trolled
alternators (AEG design), and four design mixed cur-
rent traction motors are used, The locomotives are all
equipped with the running gear (Krupp) and have the
same performance at 4,240 kilowatts (5,686 horse-
power) and 150 km/h (94 mph) as the E 10/110 „domestic
locomotive".
A stepless control enables E 410/184 to efficiently haul
express trains as well as heavier freight trains.
The four system locomotives were originally stationed
in Cologne.
