VSky H3970 Quick Start Guide
Task List
The list of tasks below should be performed in the order they appear. This list is a general
outline of the initial setup procedure. Details for completing the first three tasks are provided in
this document. For details on installing an operating system onto the server (Task 8 in the list),
please consult the documentation included with the operating system installation materials. Driver
installation for the HBA hardware and RAID controller (Task 9 in the list) is provided by LSI, the
HBA card manufacturer. The procedure used for driver installation will depend on which operating
system and version of the OS is installed.
Before you begin the installation, make sure you have everything needed to complete the
procedure including a USB drive (HDD, SSD, DVD) with the operating system install disk(s).

Important

The operating system installation disk connects to a USB
port. Use an HDD, SSD, or DVD drive containing the
installation disk(s) capable of connecting to one of the
USB ports on the VSky H3970.
Task 1: Unpack the VSky H3970
Task 2: Install VSky H3970 in equipment rack
Task 3: Insert HDDs
Task 4: Connect keyboard, monitor and USB drive
Task 5: Connect power supplies
Task 6: Use BIOS Setup Utility
