4. SETTING PROCEDURE AND DEFINITION OF THE PARAMETERS

4.5.8 LOCAL PARAMETERS SETUP ON UTANK

To gain access to the main menu, please insert the bypass key into the
unit and switch from normal position (
The main menu will appear on screen:
WARNING
When the unit is in bypass mode, both the general air
supply and the pump control valves will be permanently
activated regardless of the system's logic setup.
The arrow at the left side of the screen indicates the currently selected
option. Use the "up" and "down" keys on the keypad to select the
desired option and press "OK" to confirm.
This menu allows for setting the local parameters of the unit (address,
end-of-line, number of tanks to be controlled).
The first parameter is the local address. Use the "up" and "down" keys
on the keypad to select the desired option and press "OK" to confirm, or
press
to go back to the main menu.
The next parameter is the end-of-line. This parameter depends on the
unit's position inside the NEX-U CAN-BUS network: if the U-Tank unit is
between another two other units elsewhere in the network (in other
words, the U-Tank is not at the end of the CAN-BUS network), set this
parameter to "0"; if the U-Tank is at the end of the CAN-BUS network,
set this parameter to "1". Use the "up" and "down" keys on the keypad
to select the desired option (the blue E.O.L. status LED will change
accordingly) and press "OK" to confirm, or press
previous parameter.

4.5.9 LOCAL PARAMETERS SETUP ON UNET

The only setting for the UNet is the End of Line resistor. By default, it is
set to OFF.
If two switches are in the lower position (as shown in the picture) the EoL
is OFF. If they are in the upper position, the EoL is ON.

4.6 DIAGNOSIS OF THE NETWORK STATUS

When we have come to this point it is necessary to assure that the network
works correctly. To do this, a diagnosis of the same must be done:
As default,
1. All the green LEDs "CAN BUS" on the devices must be:
- Lighting.
- Must not be shut off from time to time.
2. No power LEDs on the devices must be blinking.
3. No LEDs on the UNet have to be continuously blinking.

The last parameter is the number of tanks. The U-Tank unit can control
one or two tanks: if only one tank is to be connected to the unit, set this
parameter to "1"; if two tanks are to be connected to the unit, set this
parameter to "2". Use the "up" and "down" keys on the keypad to select
the desired option and press "OK" to confirm, or press
to the previous parameter.
At this point, the display will show "OK! RESTARTING..." and the unit will
reboot with the new parameters.
NOTE: the new parameters are stored in the non-volatile memory of the
unit only after reaching this last point. Any changes made previously
without reaching the "OK!" screen will not be saved.
This indicates that the CAN bus network works correctly.
To be able to continue with the next step of the start-up procedure of the
installation, the global parameters setup, it is essential that the network
works correctly.
If this is not the case, the cabling must be revised (connection errors,
badly tightened connections, etc...). The LEDS can delay their lightning
a little after a problem has been corrected, as they are controlled by error
counters that are reset only after a specific number of transmissions/
receptions done successfully. To gain time the installation power supply
can be disconnected and connected.
