Category limit

The function of the Vacuum hose reel Series 881 EX is to be a part of an
extraction piping system. Even if the 881 with EX symbol is category 3D
equipment for use in zone 22 (881 exterior), it can be used with piping system
internally classified as zone 20 or 21.
Since there is no internal ignition source inside the reel, it is to be considered
as simple piping and does not fall under the scope of the directive 2014/34/
EU.

Mounting instruction

NOTE! Maximum mounting height for the reel is 4 m (figure No. 2).
Make sure that the surface, on which to mount the reel, is level. Drill 4 holes,
using the hole template which comes in the package.
1. Fit the mounting brackets in such a way that will make the reel hanging
horizontally. Ensure that suitable fixing bolts are used considering the
ceiling or wall construction material. The bolts must each stand a tractive
force of minimum 3500 N.
2. Lift the reel up and fasten it in the brackets.

2) Ceiling mounting
3. Pull out the safety lock.
4. Put the hose through the outlet of the outlet arm.
5. Fit the hose stop in required position on the hose.

Safety lock

WARNING! Risk of personal injury.
The reel is equipped with a safety lock which should be used during service or
repair work on the reel, for example when placing the hose.
NOTE! When replacing the spring the spring power must be completely
neutralized (instruction is delivered together with the spare part spring).

Mounting/Replacing the hose

(Figure No. 3a)
When the reel has been mounted on wall or ceiling, the hose is replaced in the
following way:
NOTE! Ensure that the drum is locked by the safety lock. (Figure No. 9/A).
NOTE! Use only Nederman hoses.
1. Remove the cover plate.
2. Remove the old existing hose.
