WARNING! Risk of personal injury.
The damper plate in the reel outlet could cause squeeze injuries when the
hose is coiled up. Make sure the hose has been completely coiled up when the
reel is connected to the duct.
7.3

Electrical installation

(Figure No. 11/A)
The reel is equipped with a micro-switch and a pilot signal cable (figure No.
10/B) which could control the high vacuum extraction unit to make it start by
uncoiling the hose and to stop by recoiling the hose on to drum. A suitable
motor starter are required to execute this function.
Electrical installation must be done by a qualified electrician according to local
regulations.

Earthing

Connect earthing cable to earthing point on reel.

Installation in ATEX zone 22

8.1

Applications

Nederman Vacuum hose reel Series 881 EX is suitable for use together with
high vacuum extraction systems. Typical applications are:
• Vacuum cleaning (figure No. 6)
• Extraction of particles from grinding and polishing
• Extraction of welding fumes
8.2

Permitted materials

The hose reel is only intended to be a part of an extraction system transporting
dusts with the following properties:
• MIE (Minimum Ignition Energy) > 3 mJ and
• MIT (Minimum Ignition Temperature) > 115 °C.
Do not extract items that may cause ignition or blocking.
8.3

Requirement for ATEX conformity (x)

The micro switch should be connected to an intrinsic safe circuit (figure No.
14/A) or be left unconnected.
8.4

Accessories in classified locations(ATEX)

All connected accessories must be installed according to applicable regulations
