Hair Interceptors SI-750 & SI-750-TO
Function
Watts SI-750 and SI-750-TO hair interceptors are designed for installation in beauty
shops, pet facilities, or other locations where hair may accumulate and clog the
piping system. A perforated basket inside the interceptor separates hair and floating
debris from the wastewater stream.

Sizing
There are no sizing requirements for hair interceptors.
Placement & Installation
Hair interceptors are installed in-line on the discharge piping directly beneath a sink.
The interceptor creates a functional water trap, so a separate p-trap is typically not
required.
Connect the 1-1/2" slip joint inlet to the tailpiece from the sink drain. Use a 1-1/2"
IPS nipple (by others) to connect the outlet to the downstream sanitary piping.
Ensure all joints have a watertight seal prior to use.
Maintenance
Hair interceptors should be serviced regularly to maintain efficiency; clean the
interceptor prior to the basket becoming full or clogged. The frequency of cleaning
required is dependent upon the amount of incoming debris.
Before removing the cover, place a bucket or receptacle below the interceptor.
Unscrew the cover with an appropriate wrench or channel lock pliers. Remove
the basket and dispose of accumulated hair. Wipe the inside of the interceptor to
remove any additional debris. Replace the basket and cover, ensuring the basket,
gasket, and cover gasket are properly seated prior to re-tightening.
