cable, then disengage it from the drum and pull it out of the hous-
ing.
(B) Reassembly/reinstallation:
Place the brass plate onto the shaft. Insert the worm wheel into
the housing. Insert the complete unit (cable drum with spring and
shaft) into the housing, thereby pushing the shaft through the worm
wheel (make sure that the feather key is in the correct position,
relative to the worm wheel; if required, rotate the worm wheel
accordingly). The ring groove of the shaft must be visible now.
Insert the retaining ring into the groove of the shaft, then reinstall
the worm wheel cover.
Now use the endless screw (7) to rotate the cable drum in the
"+" direction until you can see the cable mount through the opening
of the housing. Insert the cable through the opening of the housing,
then install it following the procedure described in the "Replacing
the cable" section. Wind up the cable by rotating the drum in the
"+" direction with the endless screw (use a size 17 socket spanner).
Ensure correct wind-up (i.e. inside the groove)! Tension the spring
and adjust to working load.

Never open the cable drum! Replaced springs require disposal

Replacing the housing
(C) Removal:
Remove the spring and the cable drum, proceeding as described
under "(A) Removal". Be sure not to slacken the spring too much,
as this would impair its function. Remove the suspension (see
"Replacing the suspension").
(D) Reassembly/reinstallation:
Attach the suspension to the new housing (see "Replacing the
suspension").
Install the cable drum complete with spring and shaft in the
manner described under "(B) Reassembly/reinstallation". Be sure
that the cable winds up correctly within the groove provided!
Tension the spring and set the working load, following the in-
structions given under "Adjusting the working load".
Replacing the suspension
The "Safety suspension" spare parts kit includes the screw-type
spring hook, the washer and the bolt. First, disconnect the spring
hook from the bolt, then remove the bolt and the washer from the
housing. Insert a new bolt and washer, then reattach the spring
hook.
