Energy curve at different patient impedances
Specification of a constant current leads to a direct effect
in delivering energy to the patient. Ohm's Law requires in-
creased voltage for increasing impedance. As the energy
delivered is proportional to the square of the voltage, en-
ergy delivered increases significantly as impedance increas-
es. This ensures that patients with higher impedance are
much better supplied and counteracts the mortality in this
patient group.
