Set lhe gap bctwcon (2) and (3) to equal tho depth of
tapping required PLUS lhe distance the bit

recommended torque. Loosen (7) and tum (6) for fine
adjustment Ensure covers are refttted.

Ensure that the emergency stop butlon is released. Switch on tho
power supply and press Die start button, The tool should rotate the
lead screw to advance until the stroke Bdjusllng screw actuales the
depth proximity switch. The motor should stop and then reverse to
rotum

tool to the datum position. When at datum the motor
should
switch off.
IMPORTANT: Upon setting up of the tool

acceptable.

Changing of Lead.screw

Advance the
tool
lrom l's datum po:1itlon to
approximately hBlf the depth of the lead acrew.
Releaae the grutrscrows (1). Pull the toot forward
using the quill which
win release lhe leadscrew from
the output shaft (2). Rolea38 screw on tho cross hoed
(3) and slide the cross head back (towards lhe datum
position). The leadscrew can now be removed.
Replacement lS the reversal of the above. Ensure
eovors are refined.
