Preserving Lamp Life
Read this section for guidelines in preserving lamp life. Proper light output directly impacts the
effectiveness of treatment.
Factors, which affect light output and lamp life:
Light intensity setting
Vibration and mechanical shock
Soil on lamp and/or heat reflector
Light Intensity Selector Setting
Vibration and Mechanical Shock
Soil on Lamp
IMPORTANT! Be sure the Illuminator unit is turned off and is unplugged before cleaning. Do not
immerse any part of the equipment in any liquid.

Lamp life will vary with the intensity at which the Illuminator unit
is operated. Approximate lamp life:
Level 1 =
600 hours/bulb
Level 2 =
285 hours/bulb
To maximize the life of the bulb, avoid placing the Illuminator unit
on a surface that is not stable.
Using a fresh cotton swab, wet with alcohol, swab the lamp.
Allow the lamp to air dry before turning the Illuminator on. Do not
touch or leave fingerprints on lamp bulb. Oil from the skin can
reduce lamp life.
