BEFORE PLACEMENT
Note: If you are intubating with VivaSight-SL,
follow VivaSight-SL instructions for use (IFU).
Do not use if VivaSight-EB's sterile
(ETO) package has been damaged or
previously opened.
1. Test the cuff for integrity by completely
inflating and deflating prior to use.
a. For proper inflation, cuff pressure
should not exceed 20 cm H
b. For proper deflation, use a 20 cc
syringe to completely deflate the cuff.
c. Pull the syringe plunger back towards
the 20 cc mark.
d. Disconnect
the inflation port without releasing
the plunger.
2. Prepare the patient.
3. Lubricate the entire surface of
VivaSight-EB's cuff and the interior
surface of VivaSight-SL.
PLACEMENT
1. Intubate the patient with VivaSight-SL or
equivalent.
2. Deflate VivaSight-EB's cuff completely
using a 20 cc syringe.
3. Lubricate VivaSight-EB's cuff.
4. Keep the VivaSight-EB cuff close, but
not in, the multi-joint connector. Connect
the VivaSight-EB tube connector to
VivaSight-SL tube.
5. Connect the ventilator to the anesthesia
circuit on the multi-joint connector.
6. Push VivaSight-EB into VivaSight-SL.

If resistance is felt during insertion,
pull VivaSight-EB backward, and then
push forward while gently twisting
VivaSight-EB.
7. Guide VivaSight-EB's cuff to the target
bronchus. The cuff's direction can be
changed by twisting the blocker tube
left or right.
8. After confirming the position of
VivaSight-EB cuff, using VivaSight-SL
camera, inflate the cuff to block the target
bronchus and lock VivaSight-EB's tube
with the twist lock.
9. Auscultate the lungs carefully to confirm
lung isolation.
10. If required, open the evacuation port
following placement to deflate the lung
or administer oxygen.
REMOVAL
Deflate the VivaSight-EB cuff completely
before removing VivaSight-EB. Follow proper
protocol prior to removal.
1. Use a 20 cc syringe to completely deflate
the cuff.
2. Pull the syringe plunger back towards the
20 cc mark.
3. Disconnect the syringe from the inflation
port without releasing the plunger.
4. Disconnect the VivaSight-EB from the
VivaSight-SL or equivalent, and pull it
gently backward to extract it from the
SL tube.
DISPOSAL
Discard VivaSight-EB in an appropriate
biohazard receptacle in accordance with
local regulations.
CONTAINS DEHP
The results of certain animal experiments
have shown phthalates to be potentially
toxic to reproduction. Proceeding from the
present state of scientific knowledge, risks
for premature infants cannot be excluded in
the case of long-term exposure or application.
Medical devices containing phthalates should
be used only temporarily with pregnant
women, nursing mothers, babies and infants.
