Situation
You do not see steam coming
out of the soleplate.
The appliance produces no
steam, Turbo steam or Jet-of-
steam
The soleplate is dirty.

Likely cause
Superheated (i.e. high quality!)
steam is hardly visible,
especially when the temperature
dial is set to maximum position,
and even less so when the
ambient temperature is relatively
high.
Pilot light * is on.
The appliance has not been
switched on.
Pilot light 9 "Steam tank
heating-up" is on.
The steam activator (I) is not
being pressed in.
Impurities or chemicals present
in the water have deposited on
to the soleplate.
You have been ironing at too
high temperatures.

What do to
To check if the iron is really
producing steam, hold a (cold)
mirror in front of the soleplate
vents.
Fill the water tank and insert it
properly into the appliance.
Set On/Off switch to "On".
Wait until the pilot light has gone
out.
Press the steam activator, also
when you are using the Turbo
steam and Jet-of-steam facility.
Clean the soleplate with a damp
cloth and, if necessary, with
some washing-up liquid.
Clean the soleplate with a damp

Select the recommended ironing
temperature.
