20 Overview
The PDBK-104 SD Input Upconverter Board (called "this board" in the
following) is an option board for installation in the Sony PDW-F70/
70MD/F75/75MD Professional Disc Recorder.
The principal features of this board are as follows.
• Installation of this board in the PDW-F70/70MD/F75/75MD enables
you to input and upconvert SDSDI signals
and to record them on XDCAM HD discs.
• This board also enables you to input SDSDI signals or composite
signals and to record in DVCAM format (PDW-F75/75MD only).
• For SDSDI input signal, you can record embedded audio signal (4-
channel). You can also record the timecode which synchronized with
SMPTE RP188 LTC on a SDSDI signal.

Notes
• This board must be installed in option slot 2 of the PDW-F70/70MD/
F75/75MD. You can install one board in option slot 2, either this
board (the PDBK-104), the PDBK-102 or the PDBK-103.
• You cannot record non-standard composite input signals such as the
VTR output without TBC (Time Base Corrector) mounted. Input
SMPTE 170M compliant signal.
• An iLINK input is not supported.
Installation of this board requires an upgrade to the firmware of the disc recorder. For
details, contact your Sony dealer or a Sony service representative.
