Installing Kit PN 3840961 (SX/DPS/XDP)
The following kit (PN 3840961) is applicable to engines with spec. numbers between 3869305 and 3869350.
NOTE! Parts that are not called out in the illustrations are components that are already on the engine; you must
reuse these parts when installing the tall riser kit.

A. 4.3L carbureted engines ONLY! Exchange exhaust plug and check valve. Torque to 30 ft. lb. (40 Nm).
B. If the old engine application has the loose exhaust baffles, they must be transferred to the new application and
reinstalled in the same location on the new tall Y-pipe.
NOTE! The baffle should not be present on the 8.1L engines.
C. When replacing the bellows, note that the engine marking on the bellows must be at top.
