Troubleshooting
My Firebox takes longer than 10 minutes to heat up?
Your gas or charcoal grill may not produce sufficient heat to warm up the Firebox.
Leave for longer to heat up and remove any heat deflector plates from the gas
burners.
Why is my pizza not cooking evenly?
You need to turn your pizza more often whilst cooking in the Firebox.
Maintenance
Your Firebox requires regular maintenance (interior and exterior). The use of a
Firebox cover in conjunction with the instructions below will help to ensure it
remains in proper working order and maintains its appearance. The Firebox is for
portable outdoor use and is not intended for permanent installation or installation in
vehicles or boats.
Stainless Steel
Overtime grease, fat and other cooking oils may build up on your Firebox.
To clean, wash with warm/hot soapy water. Wash off soapy water with warm/hot
clean water, leave to air dry. After use apply a stainless steel protector to stainless
steel surfaces. This will apply a protective coating on the exterior of the Firebox and
assist in repelling the elements.
If you don't intend to use the Firebox for a few months, lightly spray the outer
surface only with vegetable oil. This will help protect against corrosion.
Stainless steel will rust if you do not look after it properly.
From time to time spotting may occur on the exterior of your Firebox. This is
normal and is due to moisture and/or other elements becoming trapped under the
cover of your Firebox. To ensure that spotting and discoloration does not become
worse and more visible resulting in permanent damage to your Firebox, it should be
cleaned and removed straight away. This is best done with a stainless steel cleaner/
cutback solution, or if the spotting is larger and harder to remove, use a stainless
steel/metal polish and then a cleaner/solution. Always use a soft cloth to clean your
Firebox.
Never use abrasive heavy duty sponges or scouring pads on the exterior of your
Firebox, these products will damage the surface, resulting in rust.
