MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

Maintenance and repair can only be carried
out by qualified or authorised personnel
using original spare parts. Before carrying
out any repair or maintenance, the appli-
ance must be disconnected from the power
supply.
5.1 Resetting

manually

After resolving the causes that caused the
thermostat's safety to trip, disconnect the
appliance from the mains, remove the pro-
tective cover from the thermostat and reset
it by pressing the button that has popped
out with a round, thin and pointed object.
5.2 Inspecting the magnesium
anode
The purpose of the magnesium anode is to
protect the tank from corrosion caused by
the electrolysis and hardness of the water.
Its wear is proportional to the quality and
hardness of the water. Check the condition
of the magnesium anode each year. As long
as it remains intact it will be able to ensure
good protection. There are areas where,
due to the hardness of the water, it must
be changed every year, and this may be re-
quired by the manufacturer for the warran-
ty to remain valid.
m
WARNING
Damage caused by excessive
wear to the magnesium anode is
not considered a manufacturing
fault and is not covered by the
warranty.

5.3 Cleaning

To ensure that the water heater works cor-
rectly, as well as to ensure low energy con-
sumption, it is a good idea to remove any
limescale from the appliance's heating ele-
ment. How clean the heating element is will
depend on the hardness of the water.
Therefore, follow the steps necessary to
empty the water heater. Once the tank is
emptied, remove the plate using a suitable
tool and remove the limescale deposits that
have accumulated around the heating ele-
ment without damaging it.

5.4 General notes

Use suitable tools for each task.
It is always advisable to change the sealing
rings.
Always use original spare parts.
If replacing the heating element, make sure
that:
– The heating element is housed properly
along with the sealing rings.
– The thermostat is housed in the sheath
of the heating element and correctly con-
nected to the terminals of the heating
element.
– The pilot terminals are housed in their
correct location.
– The tank is full of water before connect-
ing it to a power supply.
