MAINTENANCE OF THE SPARK ARRESTOR
If the generator has been running, the muffler
will be very hot. Let it cool before continuing.
The spark arrester should be done every 100
hours.
Clean the spark arrestor as follows:
Remove the four 6mm screws, and remove the
muffler protector.
Remove the three 6mm bolts, and remove the
muffler, spark arrestor, and muffler gasket.
Use a brush to remove carbon deposits from the
spark arrester screen.
Inspect the screen for cracks or tears and replace
it if necessary.
Check the muffler gasket; replace them if dam-
aged. Reinstall the muffler gasket, spark arres-
tor, muffler, and muffler guard in the reverse
order of disassembly.
