Recommendations for care and service
Special care and regular servicing are highly recommended in order to maintain the pristine appearance
and precise performance of your watch. Please find below important recommendations for the daily use
of your Montblanc watch and information on service options.
Water-resistance
Do not operate the crown or push-pieces when the watch is immersed in water. We recommend testing
the water-resistance of your watch at least every three years. Water in the case may lead to deterioration
of the movement and/or the gaskets.
Magnetism
Avoid exposing your watch to magnetic fields (such as those produced by TV sets, radios, etc.). They can
affect various parts of a mechanical watch's movement. Montblanc Service Centres are equipped with
special machines to demagnetise your watch.
Other important recommendations
· In the event of shock to the watch, consult a Montblanc boutique, an approved Montblanc distributor
or a Montblanc Service Centre to have the movement checked.
· Do not expose your watch to temperatures higher than 60° Celsius (140° Fahrenheit) or lower than -10°
Celsius (14° Fahrenheit).
· After swimming, clean your watch and stainless steel bracelet with lukewarm water, rinse them with
fresh water and use a soft cloth to dry them.
· Avoid all contact with chemical products such as solvents, cosmetics or detergents.
Watch services offered by Montblanc service centres
Bracelet Service
Every stainless steel bracelet is subject to wear and tear. Regular maintenance will prolong the life of
your watch's bracelet.
Maintenance Service for Mechanical and Quartz Watches
In order to check the water-resistance and test the performance of the watch's movement, we recommend
a regular maintenance service every three years. COSC-certified watches should be serviced every year.
Complete Service
Mechanical movements comprise hundreds of assembled parts. Over time, the oils and greases that lubri-
cate the components can thicken or dry out, impairing the performance of the watch's movement. The
complete service includes replacement of all gaskets, complete servicing of the movement and polishing,
followed by performance, functioning and water-resistance tests.
This service is recommended if your watch has not been serviced in the last five years, or if it has
remained unworn for a long period of time.
