Foreword from Jakub Cikhart:
Italeri released the B-52G based on AMT/Ertl moulds from 1993/1994.
There are some errors in the instructions, so I will try to correct them.
There is a section of what is noted as „unused" during the build. It is not correct.
During 1970-1977 the planes were updated with „Phase VI" update. This resulted in adding 40 inch
constant-chord extension to the fuselage aft of the horizontal stabilizer´s trailing edge, it created
space for the added electronics. For this you need to use the parts marked red A and B and glue
them between the tail fuselage halves (kit parts 1A/2A) and the tail stinger with 0,5inch guns (kit
parts 59K/60K).
You also have to add 31 vortex generators (on each wing) to upper side of the wing leading edge
just between fuselage and inner engines pod. They are missing in the kit.
Now to camouflage schemes:
From this kit, you can only build planes from the „Operation Secret Squirrel". They were equipped
with ALCM weapon pylons and AGM-86C missiles.
Option 1 – 58-0183 „Valkyrie" - the plane was in „SAC" camouflage. The camouflage colors are
correct.
Option 2 – 58-0185 „El Lobo II" - the plane was in „Mod-SIOP" camouflage (as the only one in
this camouflage in Gulf war). The camouflage colors are correct.
Option 3 – 59-2582 „Grim Reaper" - the plane was in „Mono" camouflage. The camouflage colors
are correct.
