Lighting:
Having made sure that the welding torch adjustment valves are closed firmly
(clockwise):
- open the oxygen bottle valve gradually.
- open the gas cartridge valve.
- open slightly the valve marked with a red "GAS" sticker on the welding torch and
apply the gas lighter (N.B.) at the burner outlet: a yellow flame appears.
- open the valve marked with a blue "OXY" sticker gradually: the yellow flame dis-
appears and is replaced by a flame with a blue cone inside a flame envelope.
This flame is accompanied by a light whistling caused by the gas output speed
from the welding torch tip.
Set the required flame power by alternating between the 2 valves (see page 52:
Adjusting the flame).
N.B.: A cigarette lighter may be used if you have no gas lighter; make sure its
flame is very close to the end of the pilot flame tip.
The end of the top should be inside the cup to ensure correct lighting.
Shutdown: Close the valves on the oxygen bottle and the gas cartridge. Close the
welding torch valves when the flame at the tip goes out.
Extended shutdown: If you intend not to use your OXYPOWER® for several
days, it is advisable to unscrew the oxygen and gas bottles.
Transport: Remove the oxygen bottle and gas cartridge during long-distance
transport (by car, etc.).
