TROUBLESHOOTING
The suction of the aspirator has decreased or has
stopped:
1 . Turn the aspirator OFF.
2 . Unplug power cord from electrical outlet.
3 . Remove collection jar, empty and reinstall. Re-
f e r t o EMPTYING THE COLLECTION JAR i n
this instruction sheet.
4 . Refer to O P E R ATION, i n t h i s i n s t r u c t i o n s h e e t ,
to check suction of the Aspirator.
NOTE: If the suction still does not return, the bac-
teria filter and tube assembly may need to be re-
placed. Refer to REPLACING THE HYDROPHO-
BIC FILTER TUBING ASSEMBLY i n t h i s i n s t r u c -
tion sheet. If the suction on the aspirator still has
not returned after replacing the hydrophobic filter
tubing assembly. Turn off the unit and call your In-
vacare Dealer or contact Invacare technical ser-
vices at (800-832-4707).

CARE AND CLEANING

Emptying the Collection Jar
CAUTION
The Collection Jar should be emptied after
every use. NEVER let the fluid level exceed
the "Safe Full" line. Overflow can damage
the Aspirator.
1 . Turn the aspirator OFF and allow the vacuum
t o r e t u r n t o z e r o ( 0 ) .
2 . Remove the elbow connector and tubing from
t h e t o p o f t h e c o l l e c t i o n j a r.
3 . Lift jar out of support bracket.
4 . Remove lid by turning counterclockwise. Empty
j a r.
NOTE:It is recommended that the collection jar be
cleaned after every use. Refer to the CLEANING
THE COLLECTION JAR in this instruction sheet.
5 . To r e i n s t a l l c o l l e c t i o n j a r, reverse STEPS 1-4.
Cleaning the Collection Jar
HAND WASH.
1 . Vigorously wash separated collection jar and
lid in detergent and water solution.
NOTE: When cleaning collection jar lid, make sure
the check valve is clean and freely moves to oper-
a t e .
2 . Soak for 20 minutes in a solution of 2% vinegar
water (acetic acid). A 2% vinegar water solu-
tion may be made by using 4 teaspoons (20cc's )
white vinegar in 1 quart (1 liter) of cool water.
3 . Remove jar and lid. Air dry on a piece of paper
toweling.
MACHINE WASH.
1 . T h e c o l l e c t i o n j a r i s s a f e t o p u t i n t h e u p p e r r a c k o f a
dishwasher with a water temperature maximum of

65 C or 150 F.
