Setting the time
Open the battery compartment by pressing the knob for opening the
battery compartment 8 with a pointed object and removing the
battery compartment cover 1 . Press the button for setting the time
9 until the hour display flashes. The hours are set by pressing the
On/Scan button 2 several times until the required hour setting is
reached (see Fig.). You can now switch from the hour setting to the
minute setting by pressing the time setting button again 9 . The minute
display flashes.

The display 3 of the device now alternates between the time and the
ambient temperature (see Fig.).
Using the device as a room thermometer and clock constitutes a
continual measuring process, which significantly reduces the
battery service life.
2.6 Before you start to use the device...
• The thermometer is equipped with an encapsulated sensor 6 .
Special protection caps are not required.
• The sensor 6 of the thermometer must be kept clean and intact at
all times in order to guarantee that the measurements are
accurate.
• Ear wax affects the measuring accuracy. If necessary, clean your ear
and the sensor tip of the thermometer before measuring in order to
avoid erroneous measurements.
• If the ambient temperature exceeds the designated range of 16 °C
to 40 °C when the ambient temperature is being measured, "Err"
will appear in the display 3 .
