Intended use
The mask directs airflow noninvasively to a user with or without supplemental
oxygen.
The mask is intended to be used with active-exhaust-valve ventilator systems,
to provide ventilatory assistance to patients with respiratory insufficiency and
respiratory failure.
The mask is intended for:
adult users (>30 kg) requiring non-life-support ventilatory assistance.
single user re-use in the home environment and multipatient re-use in the
hospital/institutional environment.
Using the mask
ResMed has tinted the elbow blue to identify it as a non-vented mask.
The mask has a standard female 22mm tapered fitting for external connection
to the ventilator.
Follow the instructions provided by your physician or sleep therapist.
Prior to fitting your mask, remove the spring frame support from the rear of
your mask and retain for future use.
To fit your mask, follow the instructions in the Fitting section.
Do not overtighten the headgear straps. If you feel air-leaks you may need to:
– refit or reposition your mask
– adjust your headgear
– check that your mask is assembled correctly
– contact your physician or sleep therapist to have your mask refitted.

Cleaning the mask at home
The mask and headgear can only be handwashed. The headgear may be
washed without removing the headgear clips.
Take care when cleaning to avoid damage or loss of components.
Daily/After each use
To optimise mask seal, remove facial oils from the cushion before use.
Do not soak the mask.
Handwash the mask by rubbing gently in warm (30°C) water using mild soap.
Rinse all components well with drinking quality water and allow them to air dry
out of direct sunlight.
Weekly
Handwash the headgear in warm (30°C) water using mild soap or diluted
dishwashing detergent. Rinse well and allow it to air dry out of direct sunlight.
Reprocessing the mask between patients
The mask should be reprocessed when used between patients. Cleaning,
disinfection and sterilisation instructions are available from the ResMed website,
www.resmed.com/masks/sterilization. If you do not have internet access,
please contact your ResMed representative.
