Precautions
Safety - This device is designed for domestic use and should not be used for industrial

purposes. It must be installed and used in accordance with the instructions contained in
this notice.The prior reading of these instructions will make the installation much easier.
Follow the instructions carefully and carry them out in their correct order. Keep these
instructions for later reference.This devices is delivered with batteries. Before charging,
study the instructions of this manual. Disconnect the supply before making or breaking
connections to the batteries.
We recommend you disconnect the unit from the mains power supply during storms. If
•
you observe smoke or detect a suspicious smell, immediately disconnect the device from
the mains supply. For this reason you are advised to leave easy access to the mains plug.
Never open the unit yourself – you may be electrocuted.We recommend you disconnect
the unit from the mains power supply if you will be absent for a long period.
Ventilation, Heat, Humidity - Protect the unit from dust, humidity and sources of
•
excessive heat (such as a fireplace or radiator). The appliance should not be in contact
with liquids or exposed to the risk of dripping or splashing.Therefore be careful not to
place any object containing a liquid (vase, glass, bottle,...) on or near your appliance. Do
not expose it to direct sunlight. Its maximum ambient operating temperature is 35° C.
The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings or the device
itself with items such as, newspapers, tablecloths, curtains, etc. No naked flame sourced,
such as lighted candles should be placed on, or close to, the device.
Your unit is designed for use in a dry environment. If for exceptional reasons you must

utilise it out of doors (balcony, veranda, etc.) take care to protect it from dampness
(dew, rain, splashes).
The maximum ambient humidity that the device supports is 85%. If your unit is cold
and you wish to use it in a warm room, wait until any condensation on the unit
evaporates by itself before you switch it on.
You must only clean your unit using a soft cloth soaked in a neutral detergent.You may
•
damage your unit if you use solvent or an alcohol-based product. If you are unsure, test
the cleaning product on the underside of the unit.
