LOWER PUMP END DISASSEMBLY
1. Loosen (24) lock nut and remove (25) foot valve assembly, allowing
removal of two (21) gaskets, (22) ball stop assembly and (23) ball.
2. Remove (24) lock nut.
3. Unscrew and remove (20) inner valve seat, releasing (19) female
packing washer, four (17 and 18) "V" packings, (16) male packing
washer, (15) spring washer and (14) ball.
4. Remove (13) plunger.
5. Unthread and remove (2) spacer tube from (9) tube, releasing (8)
gasket, (7) spring, (6) male washer, five (4 and 5) "V" packings, (3b)
female washer and (3a) washer.
LOWER PUMP END ASSEMBLY
NOTE: Thoroughly clean and lubricate all seals. Replace all soft
parts with new ones included in the repair kit. Note: Refer to the il-
lustration (figure 2, page 2) for "V" packing lip direction.
1. Assemble (3a) washer, (3b) female washer, three (4) and two (5) "V"
packings (staggered), (6) male washer and (7) spring into (2) spacer
tube.
2. Assemble (8) gasket and (2) spacer tube and components to (9)
tube.
3. Assemble (19) female packing washer, two (18) and two (17) "V"
packings and (16) male packing washer onto (20) inner valve seat.
4. Apply PTFE tape to threads of (20) inner valve seat, being sure
PTFE tape does not extend out into ball seat.
5. Assemble (14) ball, (15) spring washer and (20) inner valve seat and
components to (13) plunger. NOTE: Assemble (15) spring washer
with large diameter bowed toward (16) male packing washer.
6. Assemble (13) plunger and components into (9) tube, being careful
not to damage (4 and 5) "V" packings.
7. Assemble (23) ball, (21) gasket, (22) ball stop assembly and (21)
gasket into (25) foot valve assembly.
8. Assemble (24) lock nut and (25) foot valve assembly to (9) tube and
tighten foot valve assembly against (9) tube.
9. Tighten (24) lock nut against (25) foot valve assembly.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
If the pump fails to operate.
•
Inadequate air supply.
•
Obstruction in material supply.
•
Binding or misalignment of moving external parts.
Material in one stroke only (fast downstroke).
•
(23) ball in (25) foot valve assembly is not seating. Remove (25) foot
valve assembly and inspect ball. If either the ball or the foot valve
assembly is damaged, replace.
•
(14) ball in (20) inner valve seat is not seating. Remove (20) inner
valve seat and inspect ball. If either the ball or the inner valve seat is
damaged, replace.
