balancing planes as far apart as possible in order to reduce the quantity of the
weight to be applied; if the distance between the two planes is less than 37 mm (1.5"),
the A 5 message is displayed.
Move the end of automatic measuring arm to the plane selected for the application of
the inner weight. In ALU 1 P the centre of the weight-holder cavity is used as a reference
for the weight centre line.

In ALU 1P the balancing plane is about 15mm further back (weight centre line) than the
point where the measuring head touches the rim (Fig.18/18a).
In ALU 2P refer to the rim edge, since the inner weight is of the traditional clip type (Fig. 15).
Pay maximum attention when the end of the arm is being placed in an area of the rim free
of discontinuity, so that the weight can be applied in that position.
