These stitches are used to join two pieces of fabric
while leaving a space between their edges.
1. F old over the edges of the two pieces of fabric for
the hem and baste the edges to a thin piece of
paper leaving a small space between them.
2. S et the Pattern selector on " G".
Turn the stitch length dial to " S1".
3. S titch along the edge, pulling both threads
slightly when beginning to sew.
* Use thicker than normal threads for sewing.
4. After sewing, remove the basting and the paper.
Finish by tying knots on the reverse side at the
beginning and the end of the seams.
COSER RETALHOS
Este tipo de pontos é utilizado para unir duas peças
ou retalhos de tecido, deixando um espaço entre as
respetivas beiras.
1. D obre as beiras dos dois retalhos para fazer a
bainha e alinhave-os a um pedaço de papel fino;
tente deixar um pequeno espaço entre as duas
beiras.
2. C oloque o disco seletor do desenho do ponto
na posição "G". Coloque o disco seletor do
comprimento do ponto na posição " S1".
3. A ntes de começar a coser pela beira do tecido
puxe, primeiro, suavemente pelas duas linhas.
* Para este tipo de costura utilize linhas mais
grossas.
4. Q uando terminar de coser, remova o alinhavo e
o papel. Remate, fazendo um nó nas linhas pelo
avesso do tecido, tanto no início como no final
das costuras.
