enabled when you don't want to make changes to setup menu
settings other than the USER menu.
Press and hold the MENU knob and press the MENU ON/
OFF switch down to display the setup menu, set "User Menu
with Lock" to "On, " and enter a passcode to lock the menu and
display the USER menu only.
To unlock, press and hold the MENU knob and press the
MENU ON/OFF switch down to display the setup menu, set
"User Menu with Lock" to "Off, " and enter the passcode used
when locking the menu to unlock the menu and display all
menus.
Note
It is recommended that you leave a record of the passcode
nearby, just in case it is forgotten. If you do forget the passcode
number, contact your Sony service representative.
2-slot simultaneous recording (Simul Rec)
Simultaneous recording using two SxS slots is supported.
The 2-slot simultaneous recording function is turned on/off
using "OPERATION" > "Rec Function" > "Simul Rec" in the setup
menu.
The following formats are supported.
Following formats in exFAT/HD mode
XAVC-I
XAVC-L50, L35, L25
MPEG2 HD422
MPEG2 HD420HQ
Following formats in UDF/HD mode
MPEG2 HD422
MPEG2 HD420HQ
Notes
Use memory cards of the same type and same size when
recording simultaneously.
The following functions cannot be used at the same time as
the simultaneous recording function.
Frame Rec
Clip Continuous Rec
Picture Cache Rec
Slow & Quick Motion
Interval Rec
The IFU-WLM3 USB Wireless LAN Module cannot be used
when recording simultaneously.
SDXC card support
Recording and playback is supported with SDXC cards using an
optional MEAD-SD02 Media Adaptor.
SDXC cards can be used in exFAT mode only.
SDXC cards (SD speed class: Class 10)
Notes
Format SDXC cards for use with this camcorder using the
format function of this camcorder.
High-speed playback may not be properly achieved with an
SDXC card.
Do not use SDXC cards with other memory cards at the same
time. If different types of media are used, the camcorder
cannot switch between media during recording when one
media becomes full.
Recording in XAVC-I or normal recording when shooting
using Slow & Quick Motion may not be supported,
depending on the SDXC cards used. The use of SxS memory
cards is recommended.
SDXC cards recorded using PMW-series or PXW-series
camcorders may not be supported for recording or playback
with the camcorder, depending on the device.

Direct menu function added
The Direct menu is a function used to change target settings,
displayed on the viewfinder screen, using only the MENU knob,
without displaying the setup menu using the MENU ON/OFF
switch.
The Direct menu is enabled by setting "MAINTENANCE" >
"Direct Menu" to "On" in the setup menu .
The following items can be operated.
White balance COLOR TEMP setting
TLCS mode setting
Shutter speed or number of accumulated frames setting for
the electronic shutter
Slow & Quick Motion frame rate setting
Notes
If a target item that is configurable using the Direct menu
but whose display in the viewfinder is turned off (by setting
"OPERATION" > "Display On/Off" to "Off" in the setup menu),
then the item cannot be controlled using the Direct menu.
Depending on the item, the Direct menu is enabled under
the following conditions.

Partial transfer of an original file recorded on
this unit
You can now transfer a cutout part of a file by specifying In and
Out points in the original file recorded by this unit. You can also
transfer the cutout parts of multiple files using the Storyboard.
Partial transfer is performed by attaching a CBK-WA101 Wireless
Adapter (sold separately) to the camcorder and using the
"Content Browser Mobile" application running on a device
connected to the camcorder via a wireless LAN connection.
