OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (CONTINUED)
4. Carefully remove the patient from the weighing tray and feed the patient.
Note: The scale can weigh other patients while the initial patient is being fed. However, only one
patient's weight can be stored in the milk intake functions.
Note: The stored Before Feed weight remains in memory even if the scale powers off.
5. After the patient is fed, perform the post-feed weighing. With all weight off the scale, press the
button to turn on the scale. Wait until zeroes appear on the display.
6. Gently lay the patient onto the center of the weighing tray. "LOCK" will appear and flash on the
display along with a weight measurement. When a stable weight is determined "LOCK" will stay
displayed along with the patient's weight. Depending on the movement of the patient on the
scale, it may take several seconds for the scale to lock onto the weight.
Caution: To prevent patient injury, the patient must be attended throughout the entire
weighing event.
7. Once the weight is locked, press AFTER FEED to store the patient's weight. "StORd" will appear
on the display.
Note: "ERROR" will appear on the display if the After Feed weight is less than the weight stored
in the Before Feed memory.
Note: The stored After Feed weight remains in memory even if the scale powers off.
8. Press AMOUNT FED to calculate the breast milk intake. The breast milk intake will be displayed
along with the MILK INTAKE icon. The amount fed will be held on the display until it is manually
cleared. To clear the held milk intake amount off the display, press CLEAR/REWEIGH. When
the milk intake amount is cleared the display will show the After Feed weight.
Note: The patient can be removed from the weighing tray after AMOUNT FED is pressed. The
patient does not need to be on the weighing tray for the scale to calculate the amount fed.
Note: The Amount Fed weight remains in memory even if the scale powers off.
9. To clear the After Feed weight from the display and return the scale to normal weighing mode,
remove the patient from the weighing tray. After removing the patient from the tray, the Auto Hold
feature allows the scale to continue displaying the weight measurement after the patient is
removed. The default Auto Hold time is 30 seconds. To disable the Auto Hold or change to 60
seconds, see page 8.
Additional Milk Intake Functionality Notes
A Before Feed or After Feed weight will not store if the scale did not lock on the weight.
When in idle mode (scale is on but nothing is being weighed), users can press and hold
BEFORE FEED or AFTER FEED to see the weight that was stored. To view the stored
Breast Milk Intake amount, press AMOUNT FED. To exit out of the Amount Fed display,
press CLEAR/REWEIGH.
The stored weights remain in memory until a new Before Feed or new After Feed weight is
stored.
To manually clear the stored weights, press and hold CLEAR/REWEIGH for approximately 3
seconds. "CLEAr "will appear on the display. The Before, After and Amount Fed values will
be set to zero in memory.
A weight cannot be stored in Before Fed or After Feed during Auto Hold. A patient must be
on the tray or the weight measurement is held on the display after manually pressing
HOLD/RLS/RECALL.
