• If battery acid has come on skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap and
water. If acid gets in the eye, immediately flush the eye with running cold water for
at least 10 minutes and seek medical attention immediately.
• NEVER smoke near the battery or engine or allow open flame or sparking.
• Wear safety goggles when connecting or disconnecting the battery cables and
keep the face away from the contact points!
• Take care when handling metal tools near the battery. By shorting the contacts
there is a high risk of sparking or explosion.
• Use of accessories not recommended or sold by the charger manufacturer may
result in a risk of fire, electric shock or personal injury.
• To reduce the risk of damage to the connector and cable, disconnect the
connector from the power cord when turning off the charger.
• Heating the appliance up to 50 ° C during operation is normal and no cause for
alarm.
• The charger must not be covered. When loading, ensure good ventilation.
Overheating caused by cover leads to automatic reduction of the charging current or
even to shutdown.
• This charger is intended for charging 12V lead batteries and may not be used for
any other purpose.
• Under no circumstances should a frozen battery be charged. For this reason,
charging should generally be avoided at an ambient temperature below 0 ° C. If it is
suspected that a battery is too cold, it should be warmed up for a sufficiently long
time at room temperature before charging.
• Do not charge a damaged battery.
• Non-rechargeable batteries should not be charged with this unit.
• Do not place the charger on the battery when charging.
• Always check that the charger has switched to trickle charge before leaving the
charger on unattended for a long time. If the charger does not go into trickle charge
after 24 hours, there is an error. Then the charger has to be switched off manually.
• Batteries have a limited lifespan. Defects of the battery, which occur during the
charging process, can not always be recognized by the charger. Therefore, do not
leave the charger unattended for long periods of time.
• Do not disassemble the charger. Service is not necessary and repairs can only be
made by a qualified service center. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of
electric shock or fire. If there is any suspicion that the device is not working properly,
disconnect the power plug and charging cables immediately.
• To avoid the risk of electric shock, unplug the power cord before cleaning. The
device is under mains voltage as soon as the mains cable is plugged in, even if the
device is still switched off.
