• Type TR 2002 BN or TR 2002 S BN, to EN 136:98 Cl. 3, provided with special quick connector
according to DIN 58600 for use with compatible breathing apparatus. This mask is also provided with
a special patented mechanism that enables use with negative pressure devices such as b.a. demand
valves or canister having a standard thread connector to EN 148-1
For more details please refer to relevant instructions.
3.3.8 Switch over device (4 way valve) (26)
A four way valve, available on request, allows feeding a second men who will be provided with the audible
warning too. In this case it is also mandatory to use the special supporting belt for the extension hose. The
same valve also allows to connect the b.a. to an airline to increase the duration. During the feeding from
airline (set at 5.5) the cylinder is automatically shut off.

SPECIAL APPLICATIONS
4.1
BACK UP SYSTEM EN 137:2006 (BU EN137)
RL and RC systems can be connected to a switch over device (4 Way Valve) (26) attached to the waist belt,
that enables to connect a back up system.
The back up system is in this case a breathing apparatus Spasciani series BVF, named BVF-BU (31) that
meets the requirements of EN137 standard. The 4 Way Valve, in case of failure of the feeding line,
automatically switches to the small cylinder.
In order to use the BVF-BU as a back up system be sure to switch handle (32) to the "Back Up" position so
that the BVF-BU system is set to continuously give the alarm while in use; this means that if the operator is
breathing from the BVF BU cylinder the alarm is on all the time and the operator is well aware of its
autonomy.
4.2
BACK UP SUPPLY SYSTEM (BUSS)
The BUSS here described gives extra safety margin by adding a cylinder cascade to the RL system which is
activated in case the main air supply fails for any reason.
The Back Up Supply system is made by connecting an RL and an RC system by means of two 4 Way
Valve.
Each 4 way valve is connected to a medium pressure tube coming from the line and to one medium
pressure tube coming from the RB reducer of the RC respirator.
One four way valve (26) is connected to a medium pressure tube feeding the 8x17 breathing tube placed on
the reel and the other is provided with an attachment for the breathable supply tube. The complete BUSS
system can be mounted on a mobile or fixed frame equipped with:
•
Rack to hold the required number of cylinders (20)
•
Filter unit for the medium pressure air line (28)
•
Air line pressure reducer with gauge (30)
•
High pressure RB reducer with gauges and alarm (3)
•
Two four way valves (26)
The BUSS system can be set on demand so that when the air line is cut off and the wearer is breathing from
the Cylinder (s) system the warning device at the mask and at the reducer start simultaneously.
Alternatively the alarm starts when the air supply is reduced to the alarm set point (55 +/- 5 bars for the
reducer mounted on the little trolley and 35 +/- 5 for the others) .
4.3
Warnings and limits for use
•
It is extremely important to follow the instructions given in this document as well as the relevant
sections of all booklets that come with the products.
•
The described respirators SHALL NOT BE USED UNDERWATER even if their operation is
unaltered when accidentally submerged.
•
If RL respirators. are directly fed from a compressor (and not with the RB reducer) the warning
device at the demand valve cannot operate unless RL is connected to a BU system.
•
The breathing systems herein described are NOT SUITABLE FOR FIREFIGHTING.
•
The RB reducer is designed to feed a maximum of two operators in any configuration
•
The autonomy of the apparatus depends on the air reserve. For details on some of the cylinder
capacity available on demand, please see table of par. 5. Carefully consider the air reserve before
starting the intervention with the apparatus.
•
Always verify that the high pressure supply system be compatible with the apparatus and that it has
been approved to work within the same (or higher) humidity and temperature ranges.
•
Always connect the system to compatible high pressure supply systems complying with the relevant
requirements in the country of application.
