A 3.3 Sterilization
To avoid build-up and caking of tissue
residues on the laser handpiece, the latter
should be thoroughly cleaned prior to steril-
ization.
Remove laser handpiece from the tube cou-
pling (see Section A 2.2)
Seal tube coupling with cap @ and female
part of the laser handpiece with stopper ".
Place laser handpiece in completely assem-
bled state (with exit window) in a bag.
Sterilize handpiece in an autoclave.
(135°C; 2.1 bar; 10 minutes)
From time-to-time, the handpiece should be
checked for leaks in the area of the coupling
and of the spray nozzle.
The cleanliness of the optical system should
be checked by holding the exit window #
up to direct daylight or to a lamp and look-
ing through the longitudinal axis of the
handpiece towards the optical system. Any
#
damage to or dirt on the exit window will
also be visible.
A 3.4 Blocked spray nozzle
A blocked spray nozzle can be cleaned
using the jet needle supplied (Mat. No.
0.410.0921) £.
If cleaning by means of the jet needle is not
possible:
Ì
Remove the laser handpiece by rotating axi-
ally.
Unscrew spray nozzle fi by turning coun-
terclockwise with the tool Ì supplied.
Remove lime scale from the spray nozzle
by means of vinegar or descaler.
Clean spray nozzle under running water and
attach again.
