SWITCHING YOUR RADIO ON FOR THE FIRST TIME
When the radio is connected to the power (AC or DC) for the first time, the display backlight will
be on for 8 seconds, the greetings and then the clock will be displayed. Press the STANDBY
button once will turn the radio on, the DAB will be automatically selected and perform auto tune
full scan function. (F.1) (F.2) (F.3)
AC operation
1. Connect the AC power cord to the radio via the AC socket at the back.
2. Connect the AC power cord plug to the AC mains outlet.
3. Press the SATNDBY button on the front panel to turn the radio on.
DC (Battery) operation
1. Ensure the AC power cord is disconnected from mains.
2. Installed the batteries (6 x 1.5V UM2 battery) into the battery compartment.
3. Press the STANDBY button on the front panel to turn the radio on.
Important Note: As some battery power will be still consumed in Standby; to obtain better
performance in DC (battery) operation, the use of alkline batteries is highly recommended.
LISTENING TO YOUR RADIO
FM MODE
1. To select FM, press the DAB / FM button, the display will show "Switching to FM" and it will automatically
tune to the nearest station. On the top half of the display will show the station name or frequency if the
RDS is not available. (F.4) (F.5)
2. To activate auto search up, press the AUTOTUNE button, it will start scanning up the frequency
band and stop automatically once a station has been found.
3. To activate auto search down, press and hold the AUTOTUNE button until it starts to scan down the
frequency band.
4. To activate manual search, press the UP or DOWN button.
5. To select audio mode, press the SELECT button,"Audio mode" will be displayed, again press
the SELECT button to toggle between "Auto" or "Mono" selection.
Note: The radio will automatically switch between stereo and mono mode, but you can override
this and switch this function manually which is helpful for poor signal reception.
