Danger from blades and moving parts
There is a risk of serious injury from
blades and other moving parts:
∙ Take special care not to touch the
blades while cleaning or changing the
blade inserts.
∙ Do not wear long chains, earrings,
scarves or shawls, clothes with long
and/or wide sleeves, or long, loose hair
when operating the appliance.
∙ Do not put fi ngers into the feeder
chute, and do not insert any other
objects.
∙ Do not put your hands underneath
or near the output area of the
attachments.
∙ Wait until all parts have come to a
complete standstill before removing the
feeder chute or container.
∙ Ensure that the food attached to the
spiral attachment does not protrude
from the chute.
Lack of hygiene
Lack of hygiene may result in germs
forming inside the appliance:
∙ Clean the appliance thoroughly before
using it for the fi rst time, and also after
each cycle of use.
∙ Always ensure that the appliance is
disconnected from the mains before
cleaning.

Danger of damage to the unit
Incorrect handling of the appliance can
cause damage:
∙ Always place the unit on a dry, level,
non-slip surface, which is impervious to
contact with the rubber feet.
∙ Do not let the power cord hang free.
∙ Do not kink or pinch the power cord.
Keep both the cord and the appliance
itself well away from heat sources (eg
hot-plates, gas fl ames).
Proper use
∙ This appliance must only be used for
making spirals from raw ingredients
such as apple, pear, cucumber, potato,
carrot, parsnip, radish, beetroot, sweet
potato (yam), courgette (zucchino), or
for cutting strips or slices from raw, fi rm
vegetables and fruit.
∙ Caution: The appliance is not
designed to process hard food items
such as nuts or ice cubes.
∙ Any use other than that described in
these instructions must be considered
improper and may lead to personal
injury or material damage.
∙ This appliance is intended for domestic
or similar applications, such as
- in staff kitchens in shops, offi ces and
other similar working environments,
- in agricultural working environments,
- by customers in hotels, motels etc.
and similar accommodation,
- in bed-and breakfast type
environments.
∙ Do not leave the appliance unattended
while connected.
