Mounting Hole Dimensions

1 Determine the degree of door opening required and find
dimensions "A" and "B" in the charts below.

2 Measure from center line of hinge/pivot and stick
template on door. Mark drilling holes.
L See Mounting Dimensions above as needed.
Frame
3 Remove template, and drill holes where marked with a
1/8" drill bit for SRT screws.
L SRT screws are used on metal doors.
Wood screws are used on wood doors.
4 Measure and determine your door's width. Using a hex
wrench, adjust the closer spring power. Use the table
below to determine number of turns required.
Turn counterclockwise for "-"; turn clockwise for "+"
L These turns are recommended, but may change due to
door weight and environmental conditions.

5 Install closer onto door.
L Speed regulation valve goes away from the hinge.

6 Install main arm to closer.
L See page 5 for Optional Hold Open Arm installation and
adjustment.
a. Use a wrench on the bottom closer shaft to turn the top
closer shaft approximately 45°. Hold the wrench at this
angle for the next step.
b. Place main arm onto the top closer shaft.
c. Install and tighten main arm screw.
7 Install PA Shoe onto the frame, then into the rod & shoe.
a. Attach PA shoe, and optional fifth hole spacer if needed, to
frame.
L Use the fifth hole spacer only if there is a space between
the frame and the PA shoe.
b. Fasten rod & shoe to PA shoe.
c. Install rod into the forearm of the main arm.
d. Preload main arm to be parallel with frame, tighten arm screw.
Optional Fifth

8 Adjust the closer, if necessary. See page 5 for closer
adjustment instructions.
9 Screw cap onto shaft and install cover (optional).
