Replacing the lamp
To replace the lamp, you must first remove the magnifier head from
the handle.
This causes the lamp to become visible. It can now be easily
removed from the bracket in the handle. The new one is inserted in
the bracket by attaching the V shaped cutout to the lamp ring (see
diagram).
The special halogen lamps (6 V/2.4 W) for the illuminated magnifier
are available from opticians only and are supplied in packs of two
(Article No. 1542).
Tips on cleaning the illuminated magnifier
The PXM
light-weight lenses are covered with a hardened coating
made of cera-tec
and a long-lasting anti-static coating. If after
intensive use of the illuminated magnifier dirt or finger prints collect
on the surface of the lens, clean as follows:
Wipe dust from the surface of the lens by using a soft, fluff free
cloth. More substantial soiling or finger prints can be removed by
using a damp cloth. For this purpose, the magnifier head should be
removed from the handle.
F
Never clean the entire magnifier unit in water!
Do not use any alcoholic solvents, ether, chloroform, petrol or soap
solutions containing softening agents, as these are liable to destroy
the lens.
NB. All magnifiers act like a burning glass. Never gaze
directly at the sun through the (lens) magnifier! Never leave
the magnifier in the direct sunlight as there is an increased
risk of fire! Always store the magnifier in the protective case
provided!
