GB.1.
Introduction
Your new industrial vacuum cleaner has been
designed for the daily professional use. If you follow
the safety instructions listed below as well as the
service and maintenance instructions, you can
preserve the safety and the value of your cleaning
appliance for a long time. For this purpose, carefully
read all the details in the instructions before you
start operating the industrial vacuum cleaner. Take
good care of the operating instructions and advise
all operators to read them carefully, too. If, contrary
to expectations, any technical defects should occur
with your appliance, please contact your technical
adviser of Tennant.
GB.2.
Utilization in accordance
with designation
Models 3800, 3810 and 3840,
are suitable for vacuuming non-flammable dusts
and non-flammable liquids.
All models are suitable for industrial and
commercial use, e. g. in hotels, schools, hospitals,
plants, shops and offices for other than common
household purposes. They must neither be used at
hazardous locations or for vacuuming potentially
explosive dust nor in areas which are only
admissible for machines which have been approved
in accordance with B1 "ignition source-free
construction".
Attention! The appliance must not be used:
at hazardous locations or for vacuuming
potentially explosive dust. This applies
particularly to areas where machines tested in
accordance with B1 must be used only.
for vacuuming dust which is harmful to health.
for vacuuming flammable liquids or acids.for
absorbing oil emulsive fluids or non-conducting
liquids.
at temperature ranges below – 10 °C or above +
70 °C.
for vacuuming ignition sources.
without a fabric bag for dry vacuuming
purposes.
GB.2.1
Replacements not authorized
by the manufacturer
The user is urgently requested to use our original
spare parts and accessories only. The assembly or
use of parts which have not been tested and
released to this effect by us may lead to
malfunctions and cause damages which are not
covered by warranty. This can reduce the active
and passive security of your device and can
endanger other people.
The manufacturer and/or dealer shall not be liable
for damages which are caused by use not in
conformance with the provisions or by the assembly
of non-original parts or by improper maintenance of
the device.

Information on
protection against danger
During the construction of the device the following
protective measures have been observed:

Protection against danger in the mechanical
field
All dangerous areas around moving parts (fan,
motor) are covered by fixed protective sheathings
which are firmly
attached and can only be removed with tools.
Remaining risk:
Injuries can occur if a fixed and firmly attached
protective sheathing is removed with a tool during
operation.
Protection against danger in the electrical area
All electric parts are covered by fixed protective
sheathings which are firmly attached and can only
be removed with tools. The device conforms to
Protective Class II in accordance with EN 60335.
Remaining risk
Injuries caused by electric shock can occur if a fixed
and firmly attached protective sheathing is removed
with a tool although the appliance is still connected
to the mains.

GB.4.1
for mains operated appliance
Do not open the device during operation!
Before opening it, always disconnect appliance
from the mains!
The device must only be operated by persons who
are familiar with the operating instructions and have
been duly instructed to perform operation. Protect
the appliance against unauthorized use. During
operation special care is to be taken of third
persons, in particular, of children.
Performance testing on the device is to be carried
out by the authorized customer service or by trained
persons only. Please contact your specialized
dealer.
Basically, dealing with electric current is
dangerous. Therefore avoid:
physical contact with not insulated or poorly
insulated wires.
to expose live parts of the device, e. g. wires,
plug-in connections, switches, electric motors, to
moisture. Moisture conducts electricity to
persons which are close to the device.
squashing, drawing, tearing, rubbing or any
other use of the appliance which might cause
damage to power cable or parts of the housing.
Please always make sure that
the appliance is always disconnected from the
mains during service or maintenance work.
the manufacturer's instructions are always
observed when replacing components which are
important for safety.
GB.4.2
