Press the clamping lever to linearly control the spiral feed (forward, neutral and reverse).
The LEDs in the frame will start to flash if the battery charge level is too low (see Trou-
bleshooting).
5.7
Clearing a blocked pipe
The spiral should bore its way into the blockage material; it should not be pressed in.
Immediately release the clamping lever if you feel a counter-pressure, i.e. if the spiral hits a
blockage and counter-pressure is created in the machine. There is a risk of the spiral be-
coming knotted and deformed. Then you will no longer be able to use the spiral!
If the spiral has penetrated into the pipe so that the working arc is de-tensioned, reset the
hand lever to feed again.
Repeat these processes until the blockage has been removed.
If the loads on the spiral increase (the guide tube will start to bulge), let go of the clamp-
ing lever immediately to release the pressure on the spiral!
5.8
Pull the spiral back out of the pipe
ATTENTION! Only speed level 1 is to be used when pulling the spiral back out!
After you have successfully removed the blockage, you should set the clamping lever to re-
turn travel so that you can pull the spiral back into the drum.
Ensure that the spiral comes back without any great effort. If the return movement is
difficult, run the spiral a short distance back into the pipe. Do not pull the spiral back by
force.
Place a water hose at the mouth of the pipe and rinse off the dirty spiral with water whilst the
spiral is coming out of the pipe. This will also rinse out the cleaned pipe.
When the attached tool can be seen again, you should release the clamping lever, use the
foot switch to switch off the motor and then remove the tool and the guide tube.
Switch on the motor back on again and move the spiral back until it only protrudes out of the
feed unit for about 20 cm.
The spiral should never be fully moved into the drum!
The rotational direction (counter-clockwise) is only to be changed for a short time in
order to release a blocked tool.
5.9
Shut-down
Switch off the machine by releasing the foot switch, wait until the drum stops and then re-
move the battery.
Remove the guide tube from the device.
Empty the water out of the spiral drum by removing the drum from the machine and then
remove the drainage stop plug.
Insert the drainage stop plug again and reattach the spiral drums.
5.10
Changing the spiral drum
Only change the spiral drum when the device is completely de-energized!
Release the clamping grip and then push the feed unit forward and up to the stop.
Pull the spiral drum to the front in the axial direction and remove it.
Slide the new spiral in through the feed unit and then slide the spiral drum in the axial direc-
tion and onto the axis in the frame.
Push the feed unit back again and then use the clamping grip to fix it in place.
