If petrol overflows, immediately clean any spilled fuel. The
combustion engine should only be started after the dirty
petrol surface has been cleaned. Any attempt at ignition
shall be avoided until the petrol vapours have volatilized
(dry with cloth).
If petrol has come into contact with the clothing, it must be
changed.
Carry the brush cutter only while the combustion engine is
not running. Before transport, switch off the combustion
engine and wait until the cutting attachments have
completely stopped.
Always carry the brush cutter when the engine is cold and
without fuel on the tank. This prevents fuel spillage during
transport.
During transport fix the brush cutter and fit the transport
blade guard.
Individuals who have not read the instruction manual and
are not familiarized with how to operate the brush cutter
must not use it.
Check the leak tightness of the fuel system,
particularly visible parts such as tank, tank cap, fuel
hose, couplings and carburettor primer bulb. In the event
of leakage or damage, do not start the combustion engine
and have the wheeled brush cutter serviced.
Pay attention to the area where you are going to use the
brush cutter and check for obstacles (rocks, tree stumps,
roots, ditches), objects (winding wires, metal pieces). If it is
not possible to remove objects or obstacles, mark them so
that the cutting attachments do not touch them.
Before starting the wheeled brush cutter:
▪ Carry out an inspection to ensure the correct assembly
of the brush cutter and to ensure safety issues and good
performance;
▪ Check if the spark plug cap (connector) is connected to
the spark plug;
▪ Check that the safety devices are in perfect condition
and function properly. Never use the equipment if the
safety devices are missing, damaged or worn out;
▪ Check that the carrying handle and the fixing
accessories are in perfect condition and properly fitted;
▪ Replace defective parts as well as all other worn out and
damaged parts;
▪ After assembling the accessories and before using the
appliance, you must run a test in maximum speed at no
load for a certain time. Check for moving parts
misalignment or any other condition that may affect the
brush cutter operation. Check that all moving parts
turns smoothly, without abnormal noises;
▪ Perform all necessary adjustments and work. If you have
any questions or difficulties, contact your official VITO
distributor;
▪ Observe the local regulations on the hours when it is
allowed to use tools with a combustion engine and the
permitted noise level.
Keep third parties at least 15m away from the brush
cutter area of operation. Never work while animals or
people, especially children, are in the danger zone. When
using a brush cutter, particles can be ejected at high speed
which can cause injury.
Also keep a safe distance from objects (vehicles and glass)
in order to avoid material damage.
When two or more people are working simultaneously in the
same area from each other, they must keep a safe distance
in order to prevent accidents and injuries.
Work only in daylight or with good artificial lighting. Do not
operate the brush cutter at night or when it is not possible
to have a clear view of the work area.
