SET-UP AND SAFETY
Please note the following instructions when set-
ting up the system:
The device is designed for the playback of

audio signals. Any other use is expressly pro-
hibited.
Make sure there is adequate ventilation when
7
positioning the device. There must be a free
space of at least 10 cm behind the device. Do
not place objects on the ventilation slots.
Do not cover the device with newspapers,
7
table cloths, curtains, etc.
When setting up the device, remember that
7
furniture is often coated with various types of
varnish and plastic, which often contain chem-
ical additives. These additives may cause cor-
rosion to the feet of the unit. This may leave
stains on the surface of the furniture which can
be difficult or impossible to remove.
If the device is exposed to sudden changes
7
in temperature, for example when taken from
the cold into a warm room, wait at least two
hours before using it.
The device is designed for use in dry rooms.

If you do use it outdoors, make sure it is
protected from moisture such as dripping or
splashing water.
Only use the device in a moderate climate.

Do not place the device close to heating units
7
or in direct sunlight, as this will impair cooling.
Do not place any vessels containing liquids,
7
such as vases, on the device.
Do not place any objects such as burning
7
candles on the device.
Do not insert any foreign objects in the CD
7
compartment of the device.
Do not use any cleaning agents as they may
7
damage the housing. Clean the device with a
clean, dry cloth.
Thunderstorms are a danger to all electrical
7
devices. Even if the device is switched off, it
can be damaged by a lightning strike to the
power plug. Always disconnect the mains
during a storm.

If malfunctions occur due to static electricity
7
charges or brief mains voltage surges, reset
the device. To do this, pull out the power plug
and connect it again after a few seconds.
The CD unit contains self-lubricating bearings,
7
which must not be oiled or greased.

Do not open the device casing under any
7
circumstances. Warranty claims are excluded
for damage resulting from improper handling.
Make sure the power plug is freely acces-
7
sible.
General information on laser
devices
CLASS 1
LASER PRODUCT
CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT means that the laser
is designed in such a way as to ensure that the
maximum permissible emission value cannot be
exceeded under any circumstances.
If operating devices or methods other than those
specified here are employed, it may lead to
dangerous exposure to emissions.
Invisible laser radiation is emitted if the CD
compartment is opened and the safety locking
mechanism is shorted. Do not expose yourself or
other persons to this radiation.
Continuous use at high volume
level can cause damage to the
user's hearing.
