Release the switch trigger (5) to stop the machine and wait until the machine comes to a stop.
·
Remove the battery.
·
Loosen the lock nuts with the wrench.

·
Turn the chain adjustment screw (13) counter-clockwise to decrease chain tension.
·
When you reach the desired tension, tighten the lock nuts.
SHARPENING THE CUTTERS
Sharpen the cutters (22) when the chain stops cutting into the wood easily.
NOTE
We recommend consulting a dealer, who will have an electrical sharpening tool for particularly high-level and essential sharpening work.
see figures 17 to 20
·
Tighten the chain.
·
Sharpen the cutter corners with a round file that is 4 mm / 5/32 in.in diameter.
·
Sharpen the top plate, side plate and depth gauge with a flat file.
·
File all the cutters to the specified angles and the same length.
NOTE
While you work,
·
hold the file flat on the surface being sharpened;
·
use the middle part of the file surface when filing;
·
apply light, but constant pressure when sharpening the surface;
·
pull the file away with each return stroke;
·
sharpen the cutters on one side and then continue with the other side.
Replace the chain if:
·
the length of the blades (22) is less than 5 mm;
·
there is too much distance between the chain drive links (21) and the grooves;
·
the cutting speed is too slow;
·
even after repeated sharpening of the chain, it is not possible to increase the cutting speed. The chain is worn.
SERVICING THE GUIDE BAR
see figures 21 to 22
NOTE
Make sure that the bar is turned over regularly to ensure symmetrical wear and tear.
·
Lubricate the bearings of the nose sprocket (if present) with a syringe (not included).
·
Clean the bar groove (20) with the scraping hook (not included)
·
Clean the lubrication holes.
·
Deburr the edges and file the cutters with a flat file.
Replace the guide bar (10) when:

the bar groove (20) no longer matches the height of the chain drive links (21), which can never touch the bottom side;
·
the inside of the guide bar is worn, causing the chain to lean to one side.
