WARNING:
Make sure the latches on the battery pack snap in place
and the battery pack is fully seated and secure in the
tool's battery port before beginning operation. Failure to
securely seat the battery pack could cause the battery
pack to fall out, resulting in serious personal injury.
NOTICE:
When placing battery pack in the tool, be sure raised rib
on battery pack aligns with the bottom of the tool and
latches into place properly. Improper installation of the
battery pack can cause damage to internal components.
To remove:
 Depress the latches and remove the battery pack.
For complete charging instructions, refer to the Operator's
Manuals for your battery pack and charger.
WARNING:
Battery tools are always in operating condition. Therefore,
switch should always be locked with hands free of the
lock-out button when not in use. Remove battery pack
when transporting or carrying cultivator to avoid acciden-
tal starting, which may result in serious injury.
PREPARE THE SURFACE
For best results, the surface should be clean and dry. Most
high-gloss surfaces can be cleaned with a mild soap and
water solution. For removal of stubborn dirt such as road
tar, grease, and bug stains, you can use a mild ammonia
solution such as that used in glass cleaners. To remove dirt
that will not come free from topical washing, treat surface
using a clay bar before buffing. Before using any cleaning
product, check the label for recommended applications and
follow the directions for use.
Never apply cleaner directly onto surface to be polished.
Apply to a clean cloth then use the cloth to clean the surface.
Do not use any type of abrasive cleanser as it may damage
or scratch the surface.
ATTACHING THE APPLICATION BONNET
See Figure 3, page 9.
WARNING:
To avoid injury, always remove the battery pack from the
polisher before attaching polishing pads.
The reusable application bonnet is made of 100% terry cloth
and is used to apply polish to the painted surface.
OPERATION
 To install: Place the power switch in the OFF ( O ) position.
 Remove battery pack from the tool.
 Slip the bonnet edges completely over the pad.
APPLYING POLISH TO THE APPLICATION
BONNET
Most polishes are either in paste or liquid form. Before using
any polish, read all directions on appropriate applications
and proper use.
NOTE: Be careful not to use too much polish at one time. If
the pad becomes saturated, it will not last as long.
APPLICATION OF PASTE POLISH
See Figure 4, page 9.
Use a putty knife or other flat, blunt object to apply
approximately one rounded teaspoon of paste onto the
bonnet. Evenly spread the paste over the entire surface of
the bonnet.
Do not apply paste directly to the surface being polished.
APPLICATION OF LIQUID POLISH
See Figure 5, page 9.
Apply a small series of dots around the center of the bonnet.
After the first application, the bonnet will not absorb as much
polish. Apply dots of polish to the bonnet for subsequent
applications, using half of the initial quantity.
WARNING:
To prevent loss of control and possible serious per-
sonal injury, always operate the tool with both hands.
For increased stability, hold the buffer with your hands
on the rear handle and either the side or top of the tool.
APPLY POLISH TO SURFACE
See Figure 6, page 9.
While holding the buffer/polisher firmly against the surface,
turn the buffer on. Always start and stop the polisher on or
against the surface being polished.
Begin by polishing larger flat surfaces, such as the hood,
trunk and roof. Use a broad sweeping motion in a crisscross
pattern. Do not press down on the surface with the polisher.
Let the orbital action of the pad and bonnet do the work.
Once flat surfaces have been covered, polish curved surfaces
such as car doors and quarter panels. Use small circular
motions.
After applying polish to the entire surface, turn buffer/polisher
off. Wait until the pad stops rotating before lifting the buffer/
polisher from the surface.
For hard to reach areas, such as the underside of bumpers
or side mirrors, apply polish by hand.
