All operations must be performed by qualified
personnel with the necessary technical skills to
perform the operations in the maximum safety and in
respect of current legislation.
It should be noted that the warranty offered by the manufacturer is
invalidated if:
The instructions given in the "use and maintenance"
manual are not scrupulously respected,
Routine maintenance is not performed as and when
indicated;
Lubricants other than those specified are used;
Repairs or maintenance are performed by unqualified
personnel;
Non-original spare parts are used;
Unsuitable tools are used.
IMPORTANT - The customer is responsible for
verifying that original parts only are used when
carrying out repairs. The use of non-original spare
parts could jeopardise the safety of the machine.
8.4 Routine maintenance
8.4.1
Maintenance of the internal combustion engine
For all routine maintenance, controls or verification of operation, refer
to the manual accompanying the engine. To access the motor, remove
the motor cowling.
8.4.2
Charging the batteries (model 650 - 850 ET)
To charge the batteries, proceed as described in paragraph. Charge
the batteries every 3-4 hours of work (check the charge light) to obtain
an electrolyte density of 1.27-1.28 at 20° in each element.
After checking the correct battery charge, proceed as follows:
Make sure all functions of the machine are turned off;
Turn the main switch to the OFF position;
Charge the battery.
8.4.3
Battery electrolyte level (model 650 - 850 ET)
Top up the level of electrolyte in the batteries regularly with distilled or
demineralised water up to 10 mm below the elements.
If the battery is dry, you should contact an authorised service centre.
Fill with electrolyte with a density of 1.27-1.28 at 20° in each
element up to 10 mm above each element.
Wait at least an hour before charging.
8.4.4
Battery maintenance
Keep all contacts and poles clean and dry;
Charge the batteries immediately after use;
After charging, adjust the electrolyte level.
If the machine is not used for a long period, charge the battery before
storing the machine and again just before using it;
Charging should take from 5 to 6 hours.
8.4.5
Replacing exhausted batteries
See procedure described in paragraph "Installation".
8.4.6
Filling with fuel (model 650 - 850 STH)
Open the hinged door on the cowling;
Unscrew the tank cap;
Fill the tank, making sure no fuel is spilled outside the tank.
8.4.7
Cleaning and replacing the filter
According to the type of use, the filter must be cleaned by means of
the manual filter shaker.
The filter should be cleaned at least once a week as described:
Remove the filter compartment cover on the top of the
machine.
Remove the filter shaker bar by unscrewing the wing nuts
and move the manual filter shaker;

Remove the filter and clean (or if necessary replace) with
compressed air, keeping the air jet at least 20 cm away.
8.4.8
Replacing the centre brush belt
The machine has a belt drive. To replace the belts in the event of
wear or breakage:
Remove the cowling by unscrewing the screws fixing it to
the chassis;
Inside there are the drive belt between the electric motor
and the drive shaft, the belt which transmits the motion of
the drive shaft to the centre brush, the side brush belt and,
finally, the brush driving the wheels to move the machine
forwards.
Lengthen the belt to be replaced and remove from the
pulleys;
