INSTALLATION
Physical Installation
NOTE: This pump can be used inline
or submerged. It is not self-priming
and must be located below the water
surface.
1. Place the pump in the water on a hard,
level surface.
• Always position the discharge above
the suction port.
• Never place pump directly on clay, earth, or gravel surfaces.
• For use in outdoor fountains or ponds, attach an inlet screen to the intake.
2. Connect appropriate piping. Refer to
• For in-line systems, connect inlet piping.
• If applicable, connect discharge piping.
NOTE: Do not restrict or block the suction port.
3. If it is necessary to reduce the flow rate of the pump, adjust accordingly with the discharge flow
control mechanism.
Electrical Connections
Connect the power cord to a constant source of power matching the pump nameplate voltage.
• The pump should be connected or wired to its own circuit, with no other equipment in the cir-
cuit.
• Do not connect to a fan or any device that runs intermittently.
• The fuses or circuit breaker should be of ample capacity.
• Connect to a circuit equipped with a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) if required by code.
IMPORTANT: If the power cord is damaged, the whole unit must be replaced.
MAINTENANCE
Periodic Maintenance
Periodically observe the pump's performance. If a decrease in flow is noted, clean the pump as follows:
1. Disconnect pump from power and remove from water source.
2. Disassemble the pump housing by removing the screws connecting it to the pump body.
IMPORTANT: Do not open the motor housing. There are no field serviceable parts or maintenance
required.
3. Carefully clean any debris from the impeller and pump housing.
IMPORTANT: Do not remove the impeller from the motor shaft.
4. Replace the pump housing, taking care to also replace the O-ring in the groove on the pump body.
